‘Looks, talent and pedigree come together’
The team of The Collection is proud to present the 5-year-old stallion Corlou in the first edition of this auction. Corlou is what they call the complete package. Starting with his pedigree, Corlou was born to be a star. Sire Cornet Obolensky has been one of the leading showjumping stallions of the past decade, producing Clooney, Cornado NRW, Comme Il Faut, Cornet d’Amour, Balou du Reventon and many more. The same goes for grandsire Baloubet du Rouet – the 2004 Olympic champion and three-time World Cup Final winner. Corlou’s great-grandsire Chacco Blue on the other hand is currently the official number one stallion in the world, leading the WBFSH Sire Ranking for several years now.
Corlou’s great-granddam Centina jumped successfully up to Grand Prix-level herself; ridden by Bruce Goodin, Centina won the Grand Prix of München-Riem in both 2014 and 2015 as well as the Grand Prix of Herlufmagle. In addition, Centina became second in the Grand Prix of Wilkow, third in the Grand Prix of Eschweiler and competed at the World Equestrian Games in Caen in 2014. In breeding, Centina produced the Grand Prix-showjumpers Mick Jagger and Balou’s Cento.
The 5-year-old Corlou is one of the youngest horses in The Collection, but stands out for his exceptional talent. Corlou jumps with a textbook technique, a powerful push from the floor and all the scope needed for the top level of showjumping. Combine his talent with his striking appearance and Corlou indeed has the complete package.
